Nineteen Year Old.

This article is about Brian Wong . A 19-year-old University graduate. Hes already on his second company startup called Kiip. He has received $4 million for financing a new ad model which gives mobile game players rewards such as vitamin drinks, $100 Sony tablet.  These gifts will only be offered to players who reach milestones in games on their smartphones and other mobile devices. Kiip aims to fill the void by handing out rewards, with the value tied to the calibre of the achievement. As of right now, these rewards are only available to the United States but Canada will soon follow. Rewards range from gift certificates for flowers, to vitamin water, to a Sony tablet.

Brian Wong is one of this generation’s successful entrepreneur he beat Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg for being the youngest entrepreneur to raise venture capital funding.  I have not heard of an venture idea quite like this one so its bonus points for Brian Wong to first do this.  Technology attracts all it’s a thing that is developing by the minute and Mark Zukerberg would be a great example because he is a young entrepreneur who made a way for people to connect with each other.

Xerox C.

Xerox Corporation: I believe Xerox problem was not with people but with skills such as communicating with workers. For example Barry Romeril, the chief financial officer had done a weak job overseeing corporate finances. He caused a write off of $119 million from a subsidiary with only $400 million in revenues and he also exposed the company to the turbulent Brazilian economy by failing to hedge against currency exchange rates. The company was also facing downgrade of its bond to junk status and numerous shareholder lawsuits. Barry Romeril exposed the company to the turbulent Brazilian economy by falling down against currency exchange rates. Also another problem with Xerox had been their management of employees. Their schedule forced workers to work extra and left them tired which lead them to leave and join other companies with valuable information about Xerox. In my opioion Barry Romeril should have been fired but since he had an friendship with Allaire, the chairman he remained in this position.

Venture Ideas: Bakery/Coffee.

My first venture idea would be opening a bakery in David Thompson Secondary School. Why would I open a bakery at a school? I would open it because who doesn't have a sweet tooth. Having a bakery in a school is the best location because the youth are the perfect costumers. But it's also more profitable too if a bakery is to open at a secondary school rather than elementary school. Why? Because the school board would be more likely not want to elementary school kids having a lot of sugar and also wasting a ton of money on sweets. For secondary school students, they have the money to buy from the bakery daily and no big objections from anyone to why the school is selling sweets. As time consuming it will be to bake variety of things to give the students choices to pick from it will be even more profitable at the end.

My second venture would be to towards the teachers. Teachers love coffee so why not a coffee shop right in the school. Teachers are always busy either marking or teaching their classes that they just don't have the time to buy or make some. Rather than taking extra time to go buy it from various places such as Starbucks or Tim Hortons they can easily purchase it from the school. No hassle or fuss for the teachers If there running late to school and they still need to buy to buy their coffee they can easily without no rush purchase it from the school. To the teachers advantage there is a delivery system where they can just pick up and dial from their classes and order the coffee they want. It would be really profitable I already have given my reasons to why it would be profitable. If to compare which one of these venture ideas would sell more I would have to say the bakery idea because kids tend to purchase items more than teachers and don't mind spending money on sweets daily.

Sustainability.

Sustainability can be many different things - a motto, an ideal, a way to do business, a way to live your life or a call to action. Sustainability means capable or capability of being sustained or kept up. The terms Sustainable and Sustainability are used to describe many different approaches toward improving our way of life. An example of a business would be a restaurant such as the Greenhouse restaurant. I picked this restaurant because of their environmentally friendly service. The restaurant itself was build and decorated environmentally friendly. No harmful chemicals were used and recycled hay bales insulate the walls supported by 100% recyclable steel also the floor was made from recycled plastic pallets and concrete. As for the menu it’s not so different they get their supplies from the rooftop garden. Water and organic waste from the kitchen and bar are recycled in the garden’s worm farm. Above the dining room live thousands of worms that provide fertilizer for the plants. This effort does show profit because we all have heard of many environmentally friendly issues and things but not many talks of an eco friendly restaurant. Everyone likes to try new things and its even different if the restaurant isn’t the typical restaurant they go to. When people see that a company believes in protecting the environment it makes them feel better about using them for goods and services. As a costumer it does affect me because firstly a place that is decorated environmentally I would love to see such a place and it’s another one step to helping the earth. Echo friendly has become such a big thing for such a long time now that it’s the one of the most talked about things. As for the food it’s a change a good change from the typical restaurants that feed you like any other restaurant. Greenhouse will provide fresh simple food that will melt in your mouth. Why wouldn’t you go to a place over and over again where you can eat your  favourite things but in a more healthy way and that also is good for the environment.

Corporation & It's Social Responsibilities.

A corporation is a separate legal entity. Corporate social responsibility short for CSR and is also called corporate conscience, citizenship, social performance, or sustainable responsible business and the concept of corporate social is made by business leaders as strategic responses to anti-business sentiments that developed during the late 1800s and early 1900s.The goal of these business leaders was to promote corporations as forces for the social good and thereby lessen the threat of government intervention and regulation. The goal of CSR is to embrace responsibility for the company's actions and encourage a positive impact through its activities on the environment, consumers, employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere. Furthermore the CSR major businesses would want to promote public interest by encouraging community growth and development.
